The 69 Eyes - Rosary Blue (Single)Finnish goth ‘n’ roll superstars THE 69 EYES have released the exclusive iTunes single ‘Rosary Blue’ featuring L.A. Ink/ex-Miami Ink tattoo artist Kat von D!

‘Rosary Blue’ was recording during the studio sessions for the band’s most recent album, »X«, and can be purchased via http://bit.ly/69katd

More about this recording session can be seen on the documentary DVD which comes along with the digipak version of »X«.

Check out the documentary trailer on ’Rosary Blue’ at http://youtu.be/ch7Y3CPS2iM

Commented lead singer Jyrki69: „Kat Von D is a bona fide renaissance woman. I wasn’t surprised when she mentioned me some time ago that she’s going to spread her wings over music. Strangely enough we happened to have a suitable song for a female duet ready at the same time, so it was completely natural to ask her to join in. Kat boldly flew over to Stockholm to Anders Bagge’s studios to lay down her sweet vocals last spring and the result is pure magic!“

The 69 Eyes-BorderlineHelsinki vampires The 69 Eyes, whose most recent album “X” was released on the 28th of September 2012, will release the digital “Love Runs Away” EP – including two previously unreleased bonus songs – via iTunes on February 1, 2013!

The tracklist looks as follows:
1. Love Runs Away
2. Rosary Blue (feat. Kat Von D) (edit)
3. Dracula’s Castle

`Love Runs Away´ – the third single and opening track of  “X” that has by now already become a live-favourite – carries pure rocking metal riffs and a chorus with a bulletproof hook line. Singer Jyrki69 comments: “This is the most obvious single track from the album and already works great on stage, so it’s about time to release it as a proper single!”

Jyrki69_by_Estevan_Oriol_2013The larger-than-life ballad duet `Rosary Blue´ on which Jyrki is accompanied by world-famous tattoo artist and “L.A. Ink” star Kat Von D is the first of two never before heard bonus tracks. “We’ve known each other for some years and since Kat is also starting to make music, I thought it would be interesting to have her on board. The song is amazing and with her help, it turned out even more magical – it’s like our own `Stairway to Heaven´”, states the front man.

The final track `Dracula’s Castle´ is at least equally interesting, as it can be considered pure rockabilly – or rather gothabilly! Jyrki shares its background: “The Fuzztones is one of my all-time favourite bands and I’ve got to know their leader Rudi Protrudi a bit. We wrote this track with him in Berlin one night before our show and he actually even sings backing vocals on it. Words can’t describe the feeling of making music with your own idol – I still can’t believe it! The song is like a Scooby Doo-on-acid-by-Helloween kind of gothabilly track. Should be a radio hit too by any standards!”

Frontman Jyrki commented: “My favorite music videos are basically all Elvis movies. What else you need: good music, beautiful girls and exciting location. When it comes to darkness, I think Danzig has got it in the way I love it — always seductive vixens involved.”

Helsinki vampires The 69 Eyes recently shot a video for the hit single “Borderline” together with famous producer Patric Ullaeus over in New Orleans. The song comes off the band’s most recent album, “X”. The clip will be due next week – keep your eyes open!

“It’s like our “Love Me Tender” – a soft, timeless ballad. But it also has that dark, mystic Southern vibe (some said “True Blood”), so naturally we had to go to Louisiana to shoot the video! Mark Twain’s books, Elvis“King Creole”, “Easy Rider”, blues, jazz, voodoo, vampires – so many reasons for The 69 Eyes go to N’awlins. We’ve played there twice, I’ve hosted two DJ club nights there called ”Fangtasia” over the last two summers. The leading rock/metal video director of these latter days, Swedish Patric Ullaeus was also interested in coming to NOLA to make this masterpiece, so all was set for it! The mid-October was perfect for a long-lost weekend in the South, ” tells the singer Jyrki69.

The video starts with a scene in which the local vampire tour legend Lord Chaz draws five Xs on the crypt door of the Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau’s resting place in Saint Louis Cemetery # 1. “Easy Rider’s” famous psychedelic scene was also filmed there.
