After they, almost a year ago, were part of one summer festival in Pula it was a time for Theatres Des Vampires to present their new album “Anima Noir” on the stage in Zagreb, in club Boogaloo, in front of solid number of people in front of the same one.
Although announced and impatiently waited, local forces, Embrio from Sinj this time, unfortunately, didn’t appear in front of the audience in Zagreb so for keeping the audience warm and ready for the show was task for DJ Tomi Phantasma and Gothic/Industrial/Metal hits we all missed a bit because the last Twilight was some long time ago and DJ Marin who joined him behind the DJ counter rounded the palette of those what we heard from speakers with a dose of death rock.
Sometimes around 11 PM, when the ruck inside of the hall was noticeable, red curtain announced the beginning of Twilight party concert part. As I had the chance to see Theatres Des Vampires more then once I had pretty clear image what to expect. But was it really like that?
Some moments later one of the most recognizable Italian bands appeared on the stage. Sonya Scarlet turned the back to the audience dressed so characteristic for her that a wicked smile almost appeared on my lips because it seemed it would be easy task to write this report. And then, although when it is about this band I get used to theatricality, surprise…. When she turned the face to the audience – pale white face, wild red lips, dark sunglasses and the cigarette – it was a clear Theatres Des Vampires are now distinct as never before and they bravely walk on the path of success they stepped on when their album “Anima Noir”, a bit more commercial then previous ones, was released.
Their accurately prepared and more then anything energetic performance leaded by overweening Sonya Scarlet, Theatres Des Vampires soon forced the audience to dance and loudly approve every song, you could feel in the air the band was in town last time almost who years ago and now was a perfect time for a great performance of the most popular vampire theater.
Sonya was, showing herself in a light of a real Gothic heroine, was singularity domina of the whole event and once again to Croatian auditorium she presented her self as extraordinary charismatic personality.
How much her presumption and charisma get on a price proves some clothes changing during the show, every time in a perfectly chosen moment to throw the audience deeper in the trance of pleasure.
Although they played mostly the songs from the recently published album “Anima Noir” that isn’t exactly known to domestic audience I believe the most of those who were part of this event agree, the strength of this band is beside their almost perfect theater on the stage also in their impressive vocal-instrumental performance.
Because, Theatres Des Vampires, still spiced with horror elements and sophisticated but again unconcealed lust are the band that cannot be categorized, they are exactly what their name says – vampire theater. Once again they gave a great performance to audience in Zagreb and proved vampirism really has a soul.
Twilight continued on two floors until early morning hours because the audience which after the concert didn’t even think to leave the club danced on the music that reaching from the speakers.
Until next Twilight!
