Just few days after Halloween, which is with no doubts to people in this “scene” main happening of the year, in popular bar/club in Zagreb Route 66 came Sonic Roots, one of best bands in Finnish rock scene.
It was obvious when they arrived in Zagreb that they are going to play one of strongest and most energetic concerts that Route 66 has seen this year.
The fact that band came on stage something before 10pm, made ordinary Saturday visitors, and those motivated with promo materials and media promotion all of kinds and profiles wanted to see what is hiding behind sound description “soulful hard rock”.
As the deal was, Sonic Roots started their set in 9:45pm, and because it was their first gig in Croatia, the curiosity of organization on reaction from audience for really energetic rock’n'roll grew in minute to minute.  And reaction from audience in Route 66 was in minute to minute better and stronger; every new song was greeted with huge applause. Atmosphere like this made and the bend who was in their first presentation to Zagreb audience presenting their songs from CD “Firstborn Child” and proved that they are what are people saying about them soulful rock’n'roll – energy, pure energy!
That is the reason why and those who never heard for Sonic Roots before could enjoy in 75 minutes of hardcore rock’n'roll which has made Route 66 rock! With great sound, and with great communication with audience, Sonic Roots had thrilled Route 66, so audiences reaction on songs “Junkie Girl”, “Trashy Morning” or “Take Me High” wasn’t surprising.
The fact that bend played longer set then it was planned says enough about the contact that happened between Sonic Roots on stage and the people in front of them and there are no doubts that if nothing unexpected happens, this bend will soon fill all famous European rock spaces and rock festivals. Till then , or some sooner chance, they said goodbye to Zagreb audience with song “Power of need” and once again with their great performance proved that not they are only multienergetic bend, and that its not only enough to hear them -  u just must see them live!
