It seems like concerts are coming together with exams or some other obligations at the begining of academic year. But if this new working year will be so good as it is on concert schedule, than we have nothing to worry about. New season of being out of bed all night long has been opened by this extremly popular Swedish group
As first support band, we saw already well known band, Phantasmagoria from Zagreb. Finally their sound was completed with drummer from flash and blood instead of using rytham machine. Theatrical as always, almost unreal in litres of smoke the sound was better than ever. Their show was unfortunately agressivly interrupted by security cause someone probably decided to go strictly on time schedule. Just after them Swiss guys Stoneman jumped on the stage but their show wasn’t so impressive for the most of the sudience. Stoneman are actually four young boys that are playing some strange mix of almost everything but in visual way they are very heterogen and out of balance. The impression the left on me is that each member has his own movie that isn’t paralel with others and the function of one unique entirety is totaly demaged. They returned to play one song more, but our impression even after that wasn’t better at all. Almost at the edge of nerves break, we finally awaited Deathstars! They jumped on the stage in their well known uniforms and with the first accords we knew that show will be great just as we expected!
The opening song was Last Ammunition from the last album Termination Bliss. To be honest, there’s a small number of bands that can state for themselves that their live show is almost as good and qualitative as recordings from studio but it seems that Deathstars are among that small number. Vocals sound just the same, I dare to say even better than on CD- it doesn’t miss strenght or quality not alittle bit!
They continued ith hits like Play God, Cynide, Syntetic Generation, Motherzone and many other. During the whole concert Whiplasher had a great communication with the audience that was following Deathstars with singing and dancing . Skinny’s scary vocals were perfomed almost perfect and left us speachless. All band members function together in very fluid way sending a message that they are improved and professional group full of selfconfidence.
The whole event wasn’t too crowded, it seems like only the most faithful fans were there. But those who were there had probably felt the atmsphere that Deathstars made with their powerfull show. Cause no matter of number of people, Deathstars gave their last atoms of strenghtfor this unforgetable evening.
I believe eventhough you’re not the fan of this band or you’re not well informed about their work, you’re gonna love them after attending their live show. And for something like that you will have next chance if you missed this one cause Deathstars will visit Zagreb very soon as one of support bands for already legendary Cradle of filth. The warmer suggestion is not to miss their show because it will be one scary interaction between those on the stage and those in front of it.
They came back once again on stage to finish this magnificent show that will many of us remember as one of most explosive concerts lately. And once again we were returning our homes in time when decent people go to their working places and strart another day of obligations. But as they are coming soon again we must prepare on one sleepless night more of enjoying with Deathstras cause now we know for sure that they won’t disappoint us!
